The Former Port Washington school superintendent pleaded not guilty to upgraded charges stemming from a crash in November.

Police say Michael Hynes was driving drunk when he struck and seriously injured motorcyclist Alberto Fernandez.

Hynes had announced his retirement prior to the crash.

Authorities say the charges against him include vehicular assault and DWI.
