Court documents: Former Port Washington superintendent to face upgraded charge in DWI crash

Michael Hynes, the former Port Washington school’s superintendent will be arraigned on an indictment Friday, according to court records.

One of Long Island’s top educators will now be facing upgraded charges in connection to a crash that seriously hurt a motorcyclist in Sayville.
Michael Hynes, the former Port Washington school’s superintendent will be arraigned on an indictment Friday, according to court records. The new charges include vehicular assault and DWI.
Hynes is accused of crashing into Alberto Fernandez in November.
Fernandez suffered serious injuries and needed surgery.
Hynes, 53, had already announced he was retiring before the crash.
