The spirit of giving is all around us this time of year, and little ones in Copiague were elated to get a free gift ahead of the holidays.

Students at Deauville Gardens West Elementary School got to pick out a special holiday toy.

This event kicks off the ‘Promise of Hope Foundations’ annual toy spectacular. This year, it partnered with Toys for Tots and Stephanie Diller, the wife of fallen NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller, to make this possible.

Stephanie brought along her son Ryan to show him how his father’s giving spirit lives on through events like this one.

More than 15,000 toys will be given out in eight districts across Nassau and Suffolk counties.
