A Queens man is facing charges for breaking into a home in Island Park and sending an officer to the hospital, police say.

According to police, they were called to a home on Kildare Road for a burglary on Monday at 7 a.m.

Police found the suspect, Malike Hodge, 28, in the area and tried to arrest him.

Police say Hodge became violent and resisted arrest.

Police say one officer and Hodge were taken to the hospital.
