Two women are facing charges after Suffolk County police say they uncovered a brothel operating out of a Dix Hills home.

According to police, the investigation began in response to community complaints. Detectives with the Human Trafficking Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at 1005 Commack Rd.

Police arrested 31-year-old Maria Marin-Barco of Flushing and 33-year-old Andreina Campos-Herrera, of Dix Hills. Investigators say the women advertised services online. Both were charged with prostitution and issued desk appearance tickets. They are expected to be arraigned at a later date.

During the search, detectives seized cash and electronic devices from the home.

The Town of Huntington’s Code Enforcement and fire marshal also issued several summonses to the homeowner.

News 12 also looked into one detail outside the property; a Hope Enrichment Preschool sign remains visible in front of the home.

Police say investigators confirmed there was no evidence that a daycare was operating at the location.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Human Trafficking Investigations Unit at 631-854-7512 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
