A 5-year-old boy with Type 1 diabetes was gifted a service dog from Diabetes Dogs of America.
Easton wears technology to alert his parents when his glucose levels are too high or low. He now also has the help of a service dog.
The organization spent six months training Banksy to help Easton if he becomes nonresponsive by immediately notifying his parents.
"We teach our dogs to physically jump on top of our clients, so you have a 70-pound dog jumping on top of you. You will wake up," said Edwin Peeples of Diabetes Dogs of America.
A service dog like Banksy can cost nearly $30,000 and is not typically covered by insurance.
Distant relatives raised money to help donate Banksy to Easton.
Now his family wants to pay it forward, raising thousands of dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
