Police said five people died following a crash on the Cross Island Parkway in Queens on Monday.
Officers responded to a 911 call for a collision between a Honda vehicle and a Mazda vehicle on the northbound side of the parkway near Exit 6 around 5:52 a.m.
Police say a male occupant of a car involved in the crash was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The five other occupants who were in the Mazda were pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
