Teen killed by police cruiser in Shirley receives honor walk ahead of organ donation

A Long Island mother said goodbye Wednesday to her 13-year-old son who was killed by a police cruiser in Shirley as she prepares to have his organs donated.

Authorities say a Suffolk County police officer was headed to a call, going southbound on the William Floyd Parkway, when she went through a green light at Adobe Drive and struck Anthony, who was on his bike headed westbound.
Stinson was by her son's bedside wearing clothes that represented his favorite football team. Anthony's friends and soccer teammates were also there to say goodbye.

She says Anthony was a caring and giving person who put others first and donating his organs is something he would've wanted.
"You're going to be helping other kids, you're staying, some of you is staying here Anthony, I'm so proud of you," says Stinson. "I had to let you go, I'm ready."
Stinson says five people benefited from his organ donation.
