2h agoA 13-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after a crash with a police vehicle on Saturday night in Shirley.
Detectives say a patrol officer was driving southbound on William Floyd Parkway with lights and sirens activated when the teen crossed the intersection.
The police vehicle struck the teen and then collided into two parked cars.
Police say the officer was responding to another call at the time of the crash.
The teen was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and is currently in critical condition.
