Long Islanders rallied Monday to call for a change of management when it comes to getting power.

The Long Island Progressive Coalition urged lawmakers to make LIPA a fully public utility and end its private management by PSEG.

The rally comes ahead of a LIPA Commission hearing set for Tuesday.

Coalition members say the change would save customers between $48 million and $78 million a year. That's according to numerous evaluations.

In a statement to News 12 PSEG stated, "PSEG Long Island is the #1 ranked overhead utility in the state of New York in both reliability and customer satisfaction and we look forward to presenting to the LIPA Commission tomorrow."
