Twenty Long Island public high schools are among the nation's 1,000 best, according to U.S. News and World Report's annual list.

Topping the list for Long Island is Jericho High School, coming in at No. 147.

There is a total of 15 Nassau County schools on the list and five Suffolk County schools.
