2 LI programs receive over $1M from opioid settlement

Two North Fork programs are among the first to receive funds from Suffolk County’s opioid settlement.
Riverhead Community Awareness Program was awarded $675,000, which it will get over the next three years.
Stony Brook Eastern Long Island hospital will receive more than $720,000.
Those funds will be further invested in preventing opioid use and expanding recovery services in the community.
A second round of the applications will be announced in the spring.
