A 52-year-old woman was shot in the ankle and transported to the hospital. It’s not clear if she was the intended target, but the woman is expected to survive.

Police say 19-year-old Justin Mallar is facing a slew of charges, including attempted murder, after opening fire in broad daylight on Friday.
Around 4 p.m., on Utica Avenue and Church Avenue, authorities say the 19-year-old shot into a crowd of people.
A 52-year-old woman was shot in the ankle and transported to the hospital. It’s not clear if she was the intended target, but the woman is expected to survive. A firearm was recovered by police on the scene.
The charges against Mallar include attempted murder, felony assault, criminal possession of weapon, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a firearm, menacing and misdemeanor assault. The events leading up to the shooting were not immediately clear.
Sources say Mallar was arrested once before for jumping a turnstile.
