Nassau police say they arrested 16 people for serving alcohol to a minor in a sting operation at three bars near Hofstra University.
Police say they targeted three bars on Fulton Avenue: McHebes bar, the Dizzy Lizard and Bangers bar. The raid was carried out early Friday morning and involved the use of an undercover agent who is under the age of 21.
At McHebes, police say they arrested Jonathan D. Moisan, 24, of Roslyn; Brandon Hecker, 19, of Farmingdale; Gabriel "Joseph" Romano, 20, of Turnsville, New Jersey; and Joseph Brady, 20, of Smithtown.
At the Dizzy Lizard, police say they arrested Anthony Michael DeLuca, 23, of Levittown; Braidan Halbleib, 21, of Hempstead; Brandon Sherman, 19, of Island Park; Armand Touhamy, 21, of Dix Hills; and Miranda Gray, 18, of Pasadena, Maryland.
At Bangers, police say they arrested Brandyn Williams, 24, of Garden City Park; Jessica Pallotti, 20, of Annandale, New Jersey; Gianna Gallo, 21, of Port Washington; Eric Hassell, 20, of Massapequa; Marion Davidson, 21, of Metuchen, New Jersey; Cemil Turan, 23, of Glen Cove; and Robert Verderosa Jr., 38, of Bellmore.
Police say those arrested are being charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and unlawful dealing with a child. They are each due to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 22.
Additionally, police say they arrested 20-year-old East Meadow resident Anthony Gomes for standing in the roadway and disobeying officers during the sting. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
Robert Verderosa is listed as the managing partner of nightlifemetro.com, where a promotional video for McHebes is posted. News 12 visited Verderosa's home today, but was told he was in the shower and was unavailable to comment.
Neighbors tell News 12 that they're tired of the rowdy behavior of the people who attend bars in the area.
