One mom took her early retirement and turned it into a way to give back, Pamela Douglas spends her days helping to feed Long Islanders in need with the help of her daughter.

Douglas and her daughter help serve the community by volunteering with Island Harvest.

The two have been to almost every food distribution Island Harvest event in Nassau County.

They help package and prepare the distribution.
