Communities like Great Neck and Massapequa are no longer in COVID-19 yellow zones after Gov. Andrew Cuomo lifted the restrictions Wednesday.
Those yellow zone restrictions had specific rules on capacity limits at houses of worship and restaurants, while schools had mandatory weekly testing requirements.

The changes come as the Island COVID-19 infection rate fell slightly to 6.83%, which remains the highest in New York.
Nassau County's new COVID-19 cases remained below 1,000 for second day Wednesday at 977, but the county's death toll went up by 13.
In Suffolk, the county reported 1,100 new cases, but the infection rate dropped by more than 1%, down to 7.1%. Suffolk's death toll went up by 16.
