A Wyandanch double shooting has left police with no suspects and some neighbors are being tight-lipped.
Police said the victims were standing outside a Henry Street house, where they were attending a party, when shots rang out around 9 p.m. Saturday. Whangson Numa, 31, who lives next door, was shot. An unidentified man felt a pain in the back of his leg and ran about 100 yards before collapsing from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Both men were treated at Good Samaritan Hospital and are expected to recover from their wounds.
A woman who answered the door at the home didn't identify herself. "We try to throw a nice party and people don't know how to act," she said. When asked whether she knew the shooter she replied: "Yeah right, you'll better be careful."
No witnesses came forward and police said there is no description of the shooter. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
