A woman is recovering Monday morning after crashing into a tree along the Long Island Expressway eastbound service road, police said. The tree then fell onto her car, injuring her inside, according to police. The crash happened Sunday night between New Hyde Park and Shelter Rock roads. That section of the road was temporarily closed but has since reopened. Police said weather was a factor in the crash.
