A young mother was killed Sunday morning after trying to retrieve belongings from her car following a crash.
Police say 25-year-old Brittany Leith lost control of her car and flipped over on the Southern State Parkway in West Babylon.
Investigators say Leith escaped the vehicle, but when she crawled back inside to get something, the car was hit by another vehicle and she was killed.
Officials say that when a state trooper got to the scene, his car was rear-ended by another driver.
There is no word yet on the trooper's condition. No charges have been filed.
