Police say a woman was stabbed to death Saturday night in Highbridge and two people are under arrest.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call for an assault in progress inside 1182 Ogden Ave. just after 10 p.m.

Officers discovered Shashamanie Thompson, 30, unconscious and unresponsive with stab wounds to her face and abdomen in her sixth-floor apartment. Blood splatters were found in the building stairwell.

A neighbor that wanted to remain anonymous claims they often saw a couple arguing outside of the building on numerous occasions.

Detectives say 24-year-old Beyonce Johnson and 21-year-old Saleh Ceesay were arrested. They both face charges of murder and manslaughter

It is unclear what the suspects' relationship to the victim is.
