Police say a woman was stabbed to death Saturday night in Highbridge and two people are facing murder charges.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call for an assault in progress inside 1182 Ogden Ave. just after 10 p.m. Officers discovered Shashamanie Thompson unconscious and unresponsive with stab wounds to her face and abdomen in her sixth-floor apartment. Blood splatters were found in the building stairwell.

Thompson, 30, leaves behind a son.

Sources tell News 12 that an altercation began inside an elevator and continued to the sixth floor of the building.

Police say Beyonce Johnson, 24, and Saleh Ceesay, 21, were taken into custody and are facing murder and manslaughter charges.
