A woman was arrested for trying to steal from a store in Inwood.

Tara Prentice, 38, of Brooklyn, was attempting to leave Bingo Wholesale with merchandise she didn’t pay for, Nassau police say.

When an employee tried to stop her, she swung a wooden object at them, according to detectives.

The incident happened at the business on Jamaica Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police tell News 12 Prentice continued to be combative and resisted arrest.

She's facing robbery, menacing, and several additional charges.
