Suffolk police say they've arrested a woman who claimed she had a gun and robbed an Islip pharmacy in broad daylight.
Investigators say 63-year-old Patricia Titcomb held up the Islip Pharmacy on Main Street Friday.
She entered the shop around 2:20 p.m., told an employee that she had a gun and demanded OxyContin, according to police.
Officials say the employee complied, and Titcomb fled the store on foot with the proceeds.
She was arrested a short time later in her car on nearby Union Boulevard in East Islip. Police say they did not find a gun.
Neighbors say the brazen crime on Main Street left them unsettled.
"Kids were getting out of school," says Sal Cataldo, of Long Island Beach Bowl Acai Cafe. "Kids were running up the block, and they were running right through the yellow [police] tape."
Titcomb is charged with third-degree robbery.
