(11/09/06) MASSAPEQUA - Witnesses to a frightening accident in Massapequa Thursday took quick action that may have prevented further injuries to the victims. A Valley Stream man and a North Massapequa boy were riding a motorcycle on Broadway when they collided with a car. According to witnesses, the collision threw 10-year-old Richard Sullivan under a parked SUV. Bystanders lifted the SUV and slid the boy, who appeared conscious, out from underneath.Broadway remained closed for four hours while police responded to and surveyed the scene. Workers along the street say accidents happen weekly on that part of Broadway, though few as bad as this incident. Sullivan and 49-year-old James Clark were both taken to Nassau University Medical Center. Police say the boy suffered severe head trauma.
