An Inwood father has been charged with murder in the death of his 2-month-old daughter, Nassau County police say.

The incident occurred on March 7 when officers were called to the home for a report of an infant who was choking.

Marlon Rabanles-Pretzantzin, 20, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second-degree murder. He was arraigned Thursday.

Police say Rabanles-Pretzantzin allegedly beat the infant before she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Officials also say the man is in the country illegally.

Rabanles-Pretzantzin pleaded not guilty to the charges he is facing.
