A slushy mix on Long Island roads made commuting a pain Tuesday.The snow started in the morning and steadily came down throughout the day. Parts of Long Island received as much as 5.5 inches of snow, the accumulation in Farmingville.
Hazardous road conditions resulted in the hospitalization of two people after a crash on Nichols road in Centerreach. With cold air moving into the region overnight, icey conditions may develop.
