A winter storm expected to bring snow to Long Island was a washout Saturday as milder temperatures turned snow into rain.
A heavy snow warning was canceled after the storm came later than expected and allowed temperatures to rise. While some areas did see snowfall Friday night, it quickly turned to rain by morning.
The major roadways became wet, but in the early morning hours, some secondary roads were still snow covered or slushy on the north shore of the Island.
By the end of the morning, any accumulations were washed away. Long Island Weather
