This first bitter blast will make temperatures feel like the single digits waking up and heading out the door Friday morning. There will be a gradual recovery with lighter winds by the afternoon, but it will be a very blustery day. Temperatures will run below normal with an afternoon high temperature of only 34 degrees.
The next chance to see accumulating snow has gone up a little more now for Saturday. A cold front will bring some snow showers during the day to the area with the potential to see 1" to 2" of accumulations. Temperatures will start to rise above freezing in the afternoon, so this will be a wet snow and or chance to rain and should melt, but watch those colder surfaces as they could be slick.
There is the potential for a coastal storm to still develop on Sunday, but it may be just out of reach for the area to see any major impacts. Count on some clouds and flurries or light snow showers as of Thursday night but stay with the News 12 Storm Watch Team for more information as the forecast evolves.
Get ready for the coldest air of the season to hit next week. Temperatures won't rise above freezing starting Tuesday.
