Thunder was booming across Long Island Tuesday during a wild spring storm.
A time-lapse video of the ordeal was captured from the room of the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University.
The National Weather Service says the storms actually caused what's called a "meteotsunami" off the South Shore of Long Island in the ocean.
Tsunamis themselves are generally caused by earthquakes, but meteotsunamis erupt in changes of air-pressure.
