It's almost time to ring in the new year, and the city of White Plains wants to help you dance the night away.
The city is hosting its 17th annual New Year's Eve Family Spectacular from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at Main and Court streets.
The event features live music and a DJ, fireworks and a ball drop to rival New York City.
The city had its final inspection on Thursday of its new and improved ball multicolored ball that will be dropping when the clock strikes midnight.
The ball has over 7,500 LEDs that can change colors and patterns.
The event is free, and Uber is partnering with Heineken USA to offer a free ride home to residents of White Plains.
The city expects the event to draw up to 10,000 people.
"We always get an early and enthusiastic crowd to dance the night away. It's very much a family event. We have people of all age groups coming out," says White Plains Mayor Tom Roach.
