What's Cooking: Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace's Zeppoles
Chef Vinny Olivieri, of Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace, shows News 12's Lily Stolzberg how to make zeppoles.
2 ½ cups water
1 ¼ cups flour
5 tsp salt
Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a medium size bowl, combine the flour, water, yeast, salt and sugar. Set aside and let rise.
Once dough mix has risen drop by tablespoons into the hot oil a few at a time. Zeppole will turn over by themselves. Fry until golden brown, about 3 or 4 minutes. Drain in a paper sack and dust with confectioners' sugar. Serve warm.
