Congressman-elect George Santos spent much of his first day on Capitol Hill dodging questions about the lies he has admitted to telling.

It comes as the waiting continues for the 118th Congress to be sworn in amid chaos over the vote for a new House Speaker.

Former Seaford Congressman Peter King spoke with News 12 to give some insight on the situation.

King said, “George Santos, what he has said, what he has done is indefensible. He will be sworn in, but I think immediately they have to begin an ethics investigation.”

In addition, King says Republicans will make a big mistake if they defend him.
