News 12 is diving deeper into the state attorney general's report on the allegations against Gov. Andrew Cuomo, including an in-depth look at the pictures that investigators analyzed as part of the investigation.
Attorney General Letitia James' report includes audio clips plus more than 100 exhibits that include pictures, screen grabs, emails, transcripts and more. James says the claims of nearly a dozen women were substantiated in part by the audio clips and images.
In one recording, Melissa DeRosa, a senior adviser to the governor, speaks with reporters from the Albany Times Union -- mocking the way she says she and Charlotte Bennett are portrayed in the media.
Other women didn't want to be publicly identified. Their names and images are protected in the report. One woman, known as Executive Assistant #1, has filed a criminal complaint against Cuomo. The report says the governor engaged in a pattern of inappropriate conduct with her, including unwanted touching and grabbing her butt during hugs, and on one occasion while taking a selfie.
Another woman, Kaitlin, said she felt "uncomfortable" while taking a picture in 2016 in a dance pose with the governor at a fundraising event.
The report finds that Cuomo's inner circle played a nefarious role as well. In one instance, investigators say DeRosa tried to send confidential personnel files of another one of the governor's accusers, former staffer Lindsey Boylan, to the Times Union.
Investigators say Cuomo's team did end up sending the files. Attorney General James says the report's findings are clear -- that the governor violated state and federal laws by sexually harassing women and creating a work culture that allowed it to occur and persist.
