A rare sight was captured in the western portion of the Long Island Sound.
A whale popped out of the water Tuesday afternoon off Glen Cove near the mouth of Hempstead Harbor.
The amazing moment was captured by fisherman Chris Jagenburg.
Jagenburg says he and two of his fishing buddies were heading back home to Manhasset Bay when they saw a huge spout of water and the whale.
