We are dealing with the threat of severe weather in our boroughs. Main concerns include the potential for localized flash flooding that could happen quickly, as well as strong gusts that could be damaging. Drenching downpours are possible with rainfall rates that could quickly lead to these flooding concerns.
There is a strong line of storms that will approach from the west of us-- if this stays together we could see strong to severe storms moving through our region. The severe thunderstorm watch will expire by 9 pm and the flash flood watch goes through 2 am.
The majority of Wednesday will be okay, with some isolated or stray showers or storms possible during the second half of the day.
We stay in a sticky, humid, hot, and stormy pattern for a while. We have rain and storm chances for much of the next week. Temperatures are slightly cooler, but still hot well into the 80s and feeling warmer. It will be muggy, summery, and sweaty out there. Make sure you are staying hydrated and staying cool and out of the storms.
WEDNESDAY: Highs in the high 80s, lows in the low 70s. Stray showers or storms possible. Hot, sunny, muggy, and humid.
THURSDAY: Highs in the low to mid 80s. Lows in the low 70s. Better storm and rain chances.
FRIDAY: Clouds and sun. Low rain chances. Highs in the low 80s, lows in the low 70s.
THE WEEKEND: Much of the same-- highs in the 80s and lows in the 70s. Low rain chances for both days.
