Jamie Craveiro, 20, is in critical condition after crashing his ATV on Pat Drive in West Islip Monday afternoon.
Police say Craveiro, who was speeding and not wearing a helmet, lost control of the ATV, hit a utility pole and was thrown to the ground.
Craveiro was seriously injured and required surgery. He is now in Good Samaritan Hospital.
