The West Islip Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
News 12 has learned that former Chief Jeffrey Kempf has died. He had battled stage 4 lung and bone cancer.
Kempf had been with the department for over 40 years.
Services will be held Monday and Tuesday at the West Islip Fire Department.
Kempf's burial is scheduled for Wednesday.
