A West Babylon native killed in a domestic violence incident in North Carolina was laid to rest Friday in Suffolk County.
Loved ones of 34-year-old Ravett Robinson gathered for her funeral at Mount Calvary Church of Huntington Station.
Police say Robinson, a mother of eight children, was fatally shot.
Her family is now teaming up with an organization called We All Really Matter (WARM) to prevent violence against women of color.
"Making sure that we do not follow a tragedy like this happens again," says Danielle Rogers, the victim's cousin. "We need to put things in place so that we are proactive instead of reactive."
The NYPD was also present at the ceremony.
Robinson's daughter, Victoria, is a police officer in Queens.
