Residents living along a busy West Babylon street are expressing their outrage today over the installation of red light cameras.
According to some homeowners living along Arnold Avenue and Great East Neck Road, the newly installed cameras have them seeing flashes of light constantly in their homes. Daniel McCarthy, of West Babylon, says the cameras were installed by the county without warning. He says every night it is like there is a lightning storm in his living room. He adds that the county has ignored requests to remove the cameras.
Suffolk County officials say the cameras were installed because there have been 22 accidents in four years along the stretch of road.
