A winter weather advisory has been issued for the north shore of Long Island beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday until 6 p.m.

News 12 Long Island Meteorologist Bill Korbel says snow will mix with rain during the afternoon and totals could reach between 2-3 inches. Some higher amounts are possible on the north shore.
