A storm system is bringing some light snow before a changeover to a wintry mix and rain tonight.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory to be in effect through early Tuesday morning.
Snow could stick during the evening commute, potentially changing to ice later in the evening and then eventually turning to all rain overnight. Snow could accumulate 1-2" before changing over, with less accumulation in eastern Suffolk.
Temperatures will rise overnight into Tuesday, and daytime highs on Tuesday will reach about 53 degrees. The precipitation continues on Tuesday, with scattered rain showers during the day and then heavier rain toward the evening.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy with highs in the low-40s, and Thursday will be colder, with temperatures around 35 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.
