Flooding was reported along areas of the South Shore Sunday after a morning storm walloped the area.
Low-lying coastal areas saw flooding due to strong winds off the water coupled with high tide. Viewers in areas near the Great South Bay reported some flooding.
The National Weather Service had issued a coastal flood warning for the South Shore this morning. A coastal flood advisory was issued for the North Shore and East End.
Some strong pop-up storms and brief heavy downpours are possible through the afternoon. Lingering showers will taper off by this evening, with clearing skies overnight.
Record-breaking warm temperatures of 60 degrees were recorded at Islip today. The previous record of 56 degrees was set back in 2000.
Those temperatures will quickly cool off in time for Monday as a cold front reaches the area, when highs will only reach about 38 degrees for much of Long Island.
Tuesday will see increasing clouds, with daytime highs around 42 degrees. There's a chance of a rain or snow shower in the evening and overnight hours.
