As LIU football coach Ron Cooper begins his second season in charge, he says the team is better than ever.
Cooper says year one was not easy for the Sharks, but the team rallied to win their last four games.
Player Luka Stanzani won those starts and blossomed into a second team all-conference quarterback.
Now Cooper also has his first recruiting class on the field. He says the team is ready to show what they can do.
“We are bigger, faster and stronger,” he said.
The Sharks open the season with a road game against Ohio on Sept. 2.
