Members of the fringe, anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church are expected to demonstrate at Great Neck schools and synagogues next week.

The group is targeting Great Neck's large Jewish community. Demonstrations are scheduled for Great Neck North High School, North Shore Hebrew Academy High School and a sampling of Great Neck Jewish centers.

Jewish and community leaders are encouraging Great Neck residents to ignore the group's message of hate. Great Neck North's principal says the school is working with the students to turn the protests into a lesson on free speech and tolerance.
