Several Ronkonkoma homeowners woke up to find their front lawns flooded Saturday morning.

Resident Nicholas Curto says he saw gushing water flooding his lawn at around 11:30 a.m. He quickly called the Suffolk County Water Authority.

An official says a water main break was the root cause of the flooded lawns and that crews were dealing with five active main breaks in that area. Curto says he is upset after dealing with running water all day and concerned about what could happen in the event of an emergency.

The Suffolk County Water Authority says it has been monitoring Curto's break as it addressed the more severe breaks in the area first. It is not sure when the entire situation will be resolved.
