Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says it will by dry for Thursday and Friday before the chance for pop-up showers and storms over the weekend.
Air quality on Long Island is now moderate with the biggest pollutant being ozone. The air quality alert has been extended through Thursday. Haze and smoke is very low in the area and is expected to stay low through Thursday. From time to time we may just notice a little bit of a hazy sky.
OVERNIGHT: Showers and storms end with partly cloudy skies. Lows near 64. Southwest to northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 5: 24
THURSDAY: Partly to mostly sunny and warm. Slight chance of a stray shower. Highs near 82. Partly cloudy at night with lows near 66. North to southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. 
FRIDAY: SAM'S PICK OF THE WEEK: Mostly sunny, nice, and warm. Highs near 83. Lows near 66.
SATURDAY: Sun and clouds. Chance of a passing shower or storm. Most of the day looks dry. Highs near 80. Warm at night with lows near 68.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny, warm, and humid with a chance of showers and storms. Highs near 80. Lows near 70. 
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with a good chance for showers and storms. Highs near83. Lows near 67
TUESDAY: Fourth of July! Warm with sun and clouds. Highs near 84. Lows near 64.
