Police search for man who stole $4,200 from Ridge senior citizen
According to detectives, a 79-year-old woman received a call claiming her TD Bank account had fraudulent activity and she was advised to hand her debit card over to a man who came to her house.

Suffolk police are looking for a man who they say played a role in a bank scam last month.
According to detectives, a 79-year-old woman received a call from a person claiming to work for TD Bank on Aug. 19.
The caller told the senior citizen there was fraudulent activity on her account and advised her to turn over her debit card.
The Suffolk Police Financial Crimes Unit says a man later arrived at the victim’s Ridge home in a black Nissan Maxima and informed her that he would track down the alleged fraud and she would be issued a new debit card.
The next day, approximately $4,200 was withdrawn from the woman’s account at a TD Bank ATM in Shirley and that’s when she subsequently contacted police.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
There is a cash reward available and all calls are anonymous.
