Police are warning residents in Wantagh Thursday about a series of unsolved burglaries in the community.

Authorities believe a group of burglars are responsible for at least five break-ins in the area of Silverton Avenue. According to police, the burglars strike in the early evening or the weekends. They say the group usually watches the home and waits until the occupants leave before breaking in.

The thieves have made off with cash, jewelry and electronics. Police believe they use a van during the robberies.

Anyone that sees anything suspicious is urged call police.
