WalletHub released its 2022 report on states with the best and worst school systems for 2022 - and New York, New Jersey and Connecticut all made it into the top 20.

WalletHub released its 2022 report on states with the best and worst school systems for 2022 - and New York, New Jersey and Connecticut all made it into the top 20.

The report considered performance, funding, safety, class size and instructor credentials to come up with the best and worst states for school systems.

The top three school systems were Massachusetts, New Jersey and Connecticut, respectively.

New York came in at No. 17. Louisiana, Alaska and New Mexico came in last.

30th – Reading test scores

7th – Pupil-teacher ratio

37th – Median SAT score

6th – Median ACT score

27th – Percentage of licensed/certified public K–12 teachers

37th – Dropout rate

36th – Bullying incidence rate

34th – Percentage of threatened/injured high school students

1st – Existence of digital learning plan
