Vote on Nassau precinct plan pushed back 1 week

Nassau County lawmakers will not vote today on whether to turn half of the county's police precincts into community policing centers.
The legislature was supposed to vote on Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano's controversial plan to realign four of the county's eight police precincts.
The vote has been delayed one full week and it was Mangano's decision to put it off.
News 12 Long Island has learned that around-the-clock negotiations over the weekend with police unions are making some headway.
In a statement to News 12, Mangano says, "The negotiations are progressing. I've asked the legislatures to postpone the vote one week. The PBA has agreed."
PBA president James Carver told News 12 Long Island he is hopeful a decision with the county could be reached. Vote on Nassau police precinct consolidation delayedLong Island Talks: Cops and DollarsSome Nassau residents concerned over police precinct plan
