Long Islanders glammed it up in Port Jefferson Sunday night for a fashion show that raised money for their community.
The Greater Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce and Fedora Lounge Boutique Hair Salon put on the show called "Vogue in the Village: A Village That's Never Out of Style" at Theatre Three.
Customers, employees and owners of local businesses put on makeup, styled their hair and sported some fashionable attire with the hope to bring the community and businesses together while having fun and raising some money.
Organizers said the funds raised will go to the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce with the hopes to hold more events.
"I figured I'd bring it to the village and get all of the clothing boutiques, and the salons, and everybody involved to do a fashion event where we can promote our businesses in a fun way," said Kristine Murillo, of the Fedora Lounge.
"We work together on the board with a lot of different fundraising events, and all of our goals are to have the community come together. So when she said she had an idea for a fashion show, I was like, 'We're going to do it here in the theater,'" said Theatre Three's Doug Quattrock.
The fashion show also featured some four-legged animals, like Micco, a 6-year-old yorkie. He, his mother, Candy, and the other yorkies who were featured in the fashion show are available for adoption at yorkie911rescue.com.
